Rosebank first up at Donald today

October 8, 2018

Trainer Pat Cannon takes Rosebank to Donald today in a maiden race over 1000 metres.

She debuted back in February at Stawell and the run was underwhelming and she was immediately spelled.

She looks to have come back with an improved attitude with two recent jump out wins. Her latest last week at Ballarat was the best sign yet. She jumped well and kicked clear when asked to let down in the straight. Watch the trial HERE.

Rosebank has drawn well in barrier 2 with Neil Farley taking the reins after riding her in her two trials.

Rosebank when purchased as a yearling at Magic Millions at the Gold Coast.

The main danger looks to be the Darren Weir trained Her Option. An easy winner of trial at Ballarat last week (albeit hard ridden) it should be thereabouts. Interestingly Rosebank ran her trial on the same morning a touch quicker. You can watch Her Option's trial HERE.

The other Darren Weir trained runner is by Derby winner Rebel Raider and it did trial well a few weeks ago at Ballarat. Sierra Zulu is defintely not out of this and if they run along in front I expect this horse to be banging home hard late. Watch it trial HERE.

Rosebank will take a lot of improvement out of this race but she has shown enough at her trials to say she can figure in the finish today.

Good luck to all connections!
