Equiamico races at Geelong today in race 1 on the program over 1000 metres.
Racing on the synthetic track for the first time, he's been freshened up for this after just a fair run at Swan Hill at his last start.
Today he drops back to 1000 metres and trainer Pat Cannon has decided he'll race in a tongue tie for the first time. It's hoped this will assist him in getting more air down into his lungs during the race. We're hoping he also takes a liking to Geelong synthetic track.
Equiamico is rated an $8.50 chance at CrownBet after a couple of scratchings.
The biggest danger in the race looks to be the Saab Hasan galloper Pretty Bella who is first up today. It's been placed in all of its' three runs to date including a big run last start over 1200 metres at Ballarat. It was wide with no cover at this run and battled on super in the straight for second beaten half a length. It's clearly the horse to beat.
Jordan Childs takes the ride and from barrier 3 he should get a nice run in transit. Expect him to take up a forward position.
Bombay Bullet is Pat's other runner today who gets her last chance to show something. Bombay has struggled to show much in all her runs to date. Racing in a maiden over 1900 metres she'll come out of gate 10 after the scratchings. Hard to have a lot of confidence about her chances based on her last couple of starts.
Good luck to all owners today.
