A big congratulations to a bunch of very patient bunch of owners on the big win of She's Tidy yesterday at Hamilton.
At her 12th start and with the blinkers back on she could muster no early speed and found herself worst than midfield when they settled. The plan was to sit in a forward position, but she's racing that dower that jock Jordan Turner found that an impossible assignment.
So at the 700 metre mark Jordan commenced his run from fourth last. It was well timed. She was within about five lengths of the favourite as they rounded the turn and she just kept coming at them to win the race by a head on the line.
It was a great ride by WA apprentice Jordan Turner. He kept Tidy balanced and was able to get everything out of her. After racking up 62 wins in town in Perth, he's riding extremely well and I can't see it taking too much longer for him to outride his 1.5kg claim in the city.
As for She's Tidy I'm looking forward to see how she copes with a step up in distance now. The way she was able to sustain a long run yesterday was very encouraging for a horse we have always felt is going to be a 2000 metre plus type of horse.
Congratulations again to all involved. Whether they win at Flemington or Hamilton, winning a race as an owner is a fantastic feeling and I'm sure all connections will be up and about this weekend.
