Layne's Star steps out at Sandown

July 25, 2017

Layne's Star will attempt to make it back to back wins when she steps out in a 1000 metre event at Sandown today.

Trainer Pat Cannon has elected to claim with Regan Bayliss who'll take 2 kilograms off her back.

Plenty of chances in this open event, but the one to beat is definitely Ben Melham's mount Eurack. Eurack was ultra impressive on debut at Bendigo winning running away by four and half lengths after traveling wide the trip. It's rated the favorite at $4.40.

The track in currently rated a Slow 6 and with showers predicted that rating could get worse as the day gets longer. The wetter the better for Layne.

After winning her last start by four lengths in maiden company at Ballarat, Layne star is rated a $7.50 chance.

Best of luck to Layne's owners!
