Tough sprinter Punt Club made it two wins for the preparation for Pat Cannon with a strong win at Geelong yesterday.
Racing in a 1100 metre Benchmark 70 race Punt Club slightly missed the kick but it panned out perfectly with jockey Dale Smith able to settle Punty in the perfect spot.
You knew he was travelling well and was going to be in the finish on the turn, and the son of Equiano didn't let his big team of owners down, quickly moving up to the leaders and then putting the race away for a great win.
Punt Club has now had 8 starts for 2 wins, and three seconds and will now go out for a well deserved break.
With natural improvement we expect him to come back and be competitive in town as a four year old. The aim will be to bring him back to racing after the spring carnival. Races programmed at Moonee Valley over the short course should suit Punty perfectly.
Congratulations to everyone involved.
