Layne Stars At Ballarat

July 13, 2017

Layne's Star won her first race for connections in impressive fashion on Thursday.

Racing at her home track of Ballarat Layne's Star settled well for young apprentice Lachie King in the 1000 metre Super VOBIS event. Edging closer to the leaders on the turn, Layne's Star kicked clear running away to win by four lengths.

The win took her career earnings past the $50,000 mark and was a well deserved victory for Pat Cannon and all the team at Ballarat and Nagambie.

Purchased for $45,000 at the Gold Coast Magic Millions Sales, Layne's Star has always shown ability so it was great to see her put it all together on Thursday. A big congratulations to all the owners of Layne who have been so close to winning on several occassions.

A great result also for Layne Beachley's Aim For The Star's Foundation. Princess Park donates 5% of all prizmoney earned by Layne's Star to this very worthwhile charity which aims to to nurture talented young women through mentoring and financial support.
