BULGING AND COMEBACK QUEEN D’AMICO TO ECHUCA TUESDAY

Damico_HEAD09.JPGSaturday 27th June 2009
Buldging is up again Tuesday this time up over a mile. His second up run what just fair. He never got into the race after he was slow to get going over 1400 metres. He battled ok at the end and finished midfield beaten around seven lengths. We are hopeful we see a much improved showing Tuesday. With a couple of runs now under his belt we can expect his fitness to be improved. It looks only a moderate field and now up over a mile he rates a good show. He’ll need a giving track to show his best.

Meanwhile rising 6 year old D’Amico makes her return to racing following a long injury lay off. She had knee chips removed from both knees last year and since then has been given plenty of time to get right. Brought back into work in early February she has done a lot of her training preparation at Princess Park. Linc and the team have put a lot of time and patience into the big mare and so far so good. With a modified training program she’s holding up well.

STAYER URESHII LOOKS TO BREAK MAIDEN & POWDER TO SEYMOUR
Ureshii_Ballarat_MYard_Closeup_march09_web.jpgWednesday 17th June 2009
Ureshii Tori gets another chance in Tasmania today to break her maiden status. Last start at Launceston was her best start to date. Run over 2100 metres she loomed up like the winner in the straight but the winner kept wacking away and won by a long neck. Today she races in the first at Hobart and if she runs up to her last start she’s a good chance in this. Run over 2100 metres again, the distance wont be the query (in fact last start she looked as though she wanted further!), but the genuine heavy track is a slight concern. She raced on a slow track at Avoca a month ago and jock Jarrod Fry repotted that day she got through the ground ok.

HEAVY TRACK SUITS COLIN, QUERY FOR PUFF
Bulging_Donald_July_08.jpgThursday 11th June 2009
Well the rain has finally arrived this week, with a good drenching right across Victoria. I guess if you have a horse in work at the moment who’s a duffa in the wet the paddock may be beckoning. Princess Park is represented by two runners at Bendigo today; home bred gelding Bulging and handy mare Powderhall. Bulging’s effort after almost 12 months off the track was encouraging. Over the 1200 metres he was off the bit for most of the trip but managed to finish his race off well beaten 4.5 lengths. Today he’ll get a heavy track (two runs on the heavy for a win and a close second) so there is no questioning whether he’ll handle the track. He loves it! Trainer Matt Ellerton

BULGING RETURNS TO RACING TODAY AT KILMORE
Noverre_colt_Head.JPGFriday 28th May 2009
After a long lay off with injury farm favourite Colin (aka Bulging) is back and racing today. He’s come along well but is expected to improve over more ground later in his preparation. The sting out of the ground will be a huge bonus for him today, and because of that I rate him a chance to sneak into third.

Last time in, and first up, he raced in a Donald maiden on a hard track. This race proved to be one of the best form maidens for the spring. Plenty of subsequent winners came out of the race including Bulging. He finished fifth that day but sharply improved at his next start on a heavy track at Bendigo. He was gunned

SHOWCASE FOR POWDERHALL

Statue_Of_Liberty.jpgThursday 21st May 2009
Powderhall races at Bendigo today third up and over a mile. She had excuses last start at Warnambool. After drawing wide she went back, and in the end got too far back. She wasn't disgraced however, and was able to make up ground on a leaders biased track. Up over a mile tomorrow she looks well placed. With Glen Boss in the saddle she should be able to settle in the first half dozen and be hitting the line. She’ll also be suited to the bigger track of Bendigo with her two of her three wins coming at tracks with good run home straights. Her history says she’s suited to a firmer track and she gets that tomorrow. Puco Gusto looks the one to beat.

POWDERHALL TO THE BOOL AND URESHII TO TASSIE?!

Powderhall_Kerrin_Lyn_MV_Nov08.jpgWednesday 6th May 2009
Powderhall's first up effort at Ballarat last start was super. Just what the syndicate was hoping for. Reports from the stable were that she was flying and had improved on her last preparation. Her last start confirmed all of that. After being held back by Craig Newitt at the start she went wide and stormed home over the 1200 metres. Missing by a lip at $45/1. Those taking the IAS superprice the place were well rewarded.

Tommorow at "The Bool" she takes on what seems to be a mid week mares race in town. The field has plenty of mares rated around the 70 mark, making picking the winner a big task. Powderhall has drawn out in twelve so the decision is easy. Grab a hold early and let her get back. Hoping that the Warnambool track on its' third day of racing suits those coming home and out wide. May get silly odds so best to see Cravo and Tommy on the rails and get best tote.

URESHII HEADS TO AVOCA FOR A KILL

Ureshii_Ballarat_Scale_march09_web.jpgFriday 24th April 2009
Ureshii Tori goes to Avoca on Saturday in what is probably the easiest race a Princess Park horse has ever run in. I probably shouldn’t say that as it puts the pressure on her to win, but it’s a fact. Last start at Kilmore she was a touch disappointing. She had a lovely run throughout and was entitled to have run home a little better than she did. I guess we felt a little let down after she performed so well at her first up run at Ballarat. But I have no doubt that some horses can run flat second up from a spell. They lose that freshness factor that sees them sprint well fresh and first up. Ureshii’s last start at Kilmore indicated that she will appreciate the extra ground at Avoca tomorrow which is over 1860 metres. Provided it doesn’t get too wet (she’s unknown in the going) she looks a standout in a very weak maiden. (God help me if she loses!)

Meanwhile stablemate A L’amour has also accepted at Avoca tomorrow but being first emergency she needs a scratching to get a run. She’s come along nicely and I am

FRESH POWERPUFF FIRST UP AT HOME TRACK
Powderhall_MV_Myard_Nov_Web_08.jpgThursday 23rd April 2009
Dash For Cash mare Powderhall races first up at her home track of Ballarat tomorrow. She’s had a good break from the track after a good campaign last preparation. She won two races on the provincial circuit last time in and looked as though she would measure up in town. Interestingly enough her best performance in town last time in work was an unlucky fifth behind recent Group 1 winner Purple. The race I am referring to was a mare’s race at Moonee Valley. Powderhall was held up a crucial time and really should have finished second in that race if she had clear running. Anyway, good see some form around her stacking up.

KILMORE SECOND UP MISSION FOR URESHII

Ureshii_Ballarat_MYard_Closeup_march09_web.jpgThursday 2nd April 2009
Ureshii Tori’s first up start two weeks ago at Ballarat was very pleasing for all concerned. She finally showed some of what she has been promising on the training track. Settling midfield she gained a run at the top of the straight to run home nicely for third beaten just over a length. The most encouraging part of the run was that she was strong on the line, indicating she’ll be better suited to longer races later this campaign.

On Monday at Kilmore she gets another chance to break through. After pulling up very
