LACEY BRINGS INTO THE WORLD ONE OF THE FIRST SEBRING FOALS |
|
Monday 23rd August 2010 Adelaide Cup winner Lacey Underall has given birth to her second foal. A chesnut filly by Golden Slipper champion 2yo Sebring, both mum and foal are doing very well. The foal is importantly well put together and is very correct in terms of its' leg conformation. All great news for Lacey and for the syndicate that owns the pair.
Lacey's Sebring foal is one of the very first Sebring foals to be born. The More Than Ready stallion stood his first season at Widden Stud in 2009. He covered a very good book of mares (190 in total) at a fee of $49,500.
Lacey and foal will soon be floated to the Hunter Valley where she has a date with champion Coolmore stallion Encosta De Lago.
Lacey's first foal, a filly by boom stallion Fatsnet Rock, is now a yearling and has been transported to New Zealand. She has been entered for and will be prepared to be sold at the Karaka Premier Sale in New Zealand. |

CLARK HOPES FOR 3 SCRATCHINGS AT THE VALLEY AND JOINS FACEBOOK! |
|
Friday 20th August 2010 In form Princess Park galloper Mr Griswold has accepted at Moonee Valley tomorrow for his debut run in town. Only problem is that he is third emergency!
It’s a big step up in class for the son of Good Journey, but if he does get a start you wouldn’t want to leave him out of the quaddie. His last start at Cranbourne he ploughed through the heavy 10 as if was a Good 3 for his third win in a row. We’re hoping for a rain soaked track again. If he does not get into the race tomorrow, he’ll be going around on Wednesday in a 1300 metre race at Sandown. |

JUNGLE POCKET GIVES HOPE TO CUP DREAMERS |
Friday 13th August 2010 Recent easing of quarantine regulations means that we will have Japanese horses contesting is this years 150th running of the Melbourne Cup. And the horse with the biggest boom on him is the Jungle Pocket sired horse Jaguar Mail. Jaguar Mail is an exciting proven stayer having recently won Japan’s most prestigious two mile race – the Group 1 Tenno Sho. Ridden by Melbourne’s own Craig Williams, he was too strong for his rivals. Interestingly, Jaguar Mail is raced by Katsumi Yoshida, who owned 2006 Cup quinella horses Delta Blues and Pop Rock. With his ticket confirmed Jaguar Mail has been installed as |

Sunday 8th August 2010 Mr Griswold scored a hat-trick today at Cranbourne with another tradesmanslike display. This time settling off the speed, and aided by a super ride from Andrew Mallyon, he took a gap on turning and made the race his own. He never looked in trouble once he hit the front and won the country showcase by a length.
It takes his impressive tally to three wins and a second from just five starts in this his first racing preparation. A slowly maturing son of Good Joruney, Clark's owners have had to be patient, but are a happy bunch at the moment with their patience being rewarded. In the last couple of months Clark has earned over $50,000 in prizemoney. A great return for everyone involved!
Meanwhile, Princess Park's other runner today Masterofthemanor pulled up badly lame after his race. Early signs suggests he has torn a muscle behind and this would help explain his lucklustre |

CLARK AND THE MASTER TO CRANBOURNE SUNDAY |
|
Friday 6th August 2010 Princess Park has two runners accepted for Cranbourne on Sunday. Homebred Masterofthemanor races in the 3yo 1400 metre maiden, while in form galloper Mr Griswold is going for three in a row in a showcase race later in the day. Both look to be solid each way chances in their respective races.
Masterofthemanor debuted a fortnight ago at Murtoa. After drawing a wide gate he was dragged back to second last and settled on the fence. In a slowly run race the two leaders kicked clear on the turn in a race where the backmarkers found it difficult to make ground. He was tightened for room in the straight but the effort was good. Expect improvement in the race on Sunday which will be over a more suitable journey. He's unknown in the heavy but his half brother Bulging loved it which could be some guide?
In form galloper Mr Griswold can expect another large contingent of owners at Cranbourne on Sunday. Clark is living up to the wraps put on him earlier in the year. After just four starts he has now had two wins, a second and a close up fourth at his first start. In all his runs he has shown good fight and the horse looks to have plenty of heart. A hoof abscess during the week meant he was scratched for his city |

CLARK TAKES HOME CRANBOURNE SHOWCASE EVENT |
Sunday 25th July 2010 Mr Griswold continued his terrific form at Cranbourne today with a comfortable win in a 1400 metre 0-68 Showcase event. Quickly away he was able to settle on the hammer of the leader and in just an even tempo race he looked hard to beat before the turn.
Booting clear in the straight he never looked in doubt and won the race by a length. The win makes it two wins from just four starts for Clark as he puts together an impressive track record.
A good showing by owners and friends made the day even more enjoyable. With odds of $9.50 on offer owners had plenty to smile about.
Clark is showing a strong liking to rain effected going so connections will be hoping Melbourne’s damp weather continues. |

MASTER DEBUTS AT MURTOA AND GRISWOLD GOES FOR TWO IN A ROW |
|
Saturday 24th July 2010 Princess Park homebred Masterofthemanor makes his debut today at Murtoa. An achievement in itself given the situation the horse was in just 12 months ago.
Out of Grand Lodge mare M'Lady's Manor, this son of Honour's List was on death's door last year after an infection set in big time in the gelding's hock. The horse was in a bad way.
Temperature through the roof, hock the size of a basketball, and losing weight quickly, it wasn't looking good for the little fella. However, with good care through this period and plenty of time and patience, the horse recovered. We were never really that optimistic of his prospects given his hock issue and the potential damage the infection may have caused. But as time progressed and as he has gone through the process of being broken in, pre-trained and sent |

|
Monday 21st July 2010 Ellerton Zahra Racing have shares available in a magnificent rising two year old filly by the brilliant juvenile and up and coming young sire Churchill Downs. This filly was recently broken in by Princess Park and she really impressed us, displaying good natural ability and when you take a look her pedigree, it’s easy to see why.

All, including Churchill Downs, are stallion sons of the mighty Danehill, the sire of 193 individual stakeswinners in a glittering career. Churchill Downs has made a big impression with just one crop of yearlings to hit sales rings around Australia. A $950,000 yearling himself, Churchill Downs was the leading first season sire at the 2010 Melbourne |

GRISWOLD SECOND UP AT BALLARAT TODAY |
|
Thursday 24th June 2010 It will be no Vacation at Ballarat today for Mr Griswold (aka Clarke) as he attempts to break through for his maiden win. Clarke ran super at his first race start at Benalla with a close up fourth. Trapped deep and with no cover for the entire race, he was made to make his run early and was entitled to weaken on turning. But he showed good fight hitting the lead at the 200 only to be gunned down late by the swoopers.
Given a freshen up after his first up start, he ventured up to Seymour last week and was well fancied. Unfortunately for connections a big storm swept through and the races were abandoned. So plans to race today at Ballarat were made. He meets a good little field but despite drawing wide he's rated |
